Energy Conversion Technology
Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Manfred Wirsum
This course features a comprehensive introduction into energy systems, starting from energy resources to the most important forms of end-energy.
Required machines and apparaturs are presented by their main functions and designs. The application of these machines and their application is discussed by their characteristics for different operation regimes and load levels.
In the following, the interaction of these machines in energy systems is shown. Special focus is given to system design and operation challenges of complex branched systems.
Finally, the course deals with the environmental aspects, regarding emissions, their legislative binding limits and the possibilities of their avoidance on both, local and global level.
