Application of Similarity Theory in Mechanical Engineering
This course covers the examination of functional correlation in physical and technical systems. These systems can either be modeled by equations or a set of influence variables. By the means of dimensional analysis, the variables are summarized in dimensionless numbers and used for similarity analysis of the systems.
With the help of dimensionless numbers, general laws can be conducted for experimental design, as they are applied to fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer and mechanical vibrations.
In order to deepen the knowledge, applications are discussed in the course.
This course is given in German.
