Power Plant Chemistry
The lecture power plant chemistry gives an insight into the operation of a conventional thermal power plant. An overview over tasks of a power plant chemist is given. Tasks may cover aspects of environmental and health protection as well as monitoring of fuel and working fluid quality.
Undesired effects (emission, corrosion, ...) as present in the power plant process and their avoidance build the main part of the lecture.
Special focus is given to:
- Chemical Processes in the water-steam cycle
- Chemistry of water-steam cycle and cooling systems
- Chemistry of exhaust gas cleaning
- Fuel and combustion chemistry
- Corrosion and protection
An on-site location is visited in the framework of this course.
This lecture is given in German.
