From 2013 - 2019, I studied mechanical engineering with a specialisation in energy technology at RWTH Aachen University and completed my bachelor's degree with an internship and my bachelor's thesis at the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Stuttgart. As part of my final thesis, I dealt with the conceptual investigation of small-scale compressed air energy storage (CAES) systems for decentralised energy storage.
From 2019 - 2021, I continued my studies at RWTH Aachen University with a master's degree in energy technology and a specialisation in fluid machinery and jet propulsion. In my master's thesis at the IKDG, I conducted a potential analysis of exhaust gas recirculation and water/steam injection in gas turbines for different methane-hydrogen mixtures. The thesis has led to the publication "Analysis of the Emission Reduction Potential and Combustion Stability Limits of a Hydrogen-Fired Gas Turbine with External Exhaust Gas Recirculation".
Since the end of 2021, I have been working at the IKDG in the Process Analysis and Systems group and I am in charge of the HyInnoBurn project, which is part of the Future Hydrogen Cluster at RWTH Aachen University.
