2009: Combustion Chamber Test Rig Construction
In 2009, the construction of the combustion chamber test rig at the Institut will be completed. Thus, the Institute of Power Plant Technology, Steam and Gas Turbines at RWTH Aachen University has one of the rare test benches on which commercially used combustion chambers for gas turbines can be tested. The "HD compressor", commissioned two years earlier, allows realistic operating parameters to be set. Natural gas as well as hydrogen can be used as fuel.
