Last week the International Gas Turbine Congress 2019 (IGTC2019) took place in Tokyo, Japan. This was the 12th international congress organized by the Gas Turbine Society of Japan (GTSJ).
Over 200 papers from 17 countries have been presented during technical sessions. GTSJ intends to provide a global platform for engineers, researchers and users to exchange ideas and results as well as to promote personal networking, with a focus on gas turbines, propulsion, and energy systems.

Our institute was represented by Simon Andres and Piotr Luczynski who discussed the results of their very current investigation on Numerical Design Study of the Aerodynamics of a Light Scattering Probe for Water Droplet Detection inside Low Pressure Steam Turbines and on Analytical heat Transfer Approach for a Multistage Reaction Steam Turbine in Start-up Operation, respectively. It was also a great pleasure to listen to the lecture of our former co-worker and very good friend PhD Daniel Kroniger who represented Kawasaki Heavy Industry with his talk on Applied NOx Prediction for an Industrial Gas Turbine Combustor at Wet Hydrogen-Rich Conditions.
